Transplantation is a relatively modern branch of medicine made possible by the expert skills of a wide range of specialists and, to a large extent, by a range of medicines known as immunosuppressants which prevent donated organs from being rejected.

It is a relatively new therapy area for Chiesi in which we have a novel formulation of a tried and trusted immunosuppressant, tacrolimus. This product forms part of a growing Special Care portfolio to which Chiesi are committed to developing and acquiring new medicines.

Chiesi are also committed to providing education and support to transplant specialists and patients throughout the UK via a number of organisations.
